Revisit the tranquil shores of Willow Lake and the Bellamy family in this heartwarming tale of a woman who discovers that small moments can end up being life’s most cherished memories.

International lawyer Sophie Bellamy has dedicated her life to helping people in war-torn countries. But when she survives a hostage situation, she remembers what matters most—the children she loves back home. Haunted by regrets, she returns to the idyllic Catskills village of Avalon on the shores of Willow Lake, determined to repair the bonds with her family.

There Sophie discovers the surprising rewards of small-town life—including an unexpected passion for Noah Shepherd, the local veterinarian. Noah has a healing touch for anything with four legs, but he’s never had any luck with women—until Sophie. But Sophie’s heart needs healing…and both she and Noah need a chance at happiness.

I’m enjoying the series. It’s entertaining. It’s an audio series that I have enjoyed taking with me on my long walks. Stirs up memories of life.

While I love reading Sophie's story, I don't understand Noah's reason for falling for an older woman. He supposedly attractive, kind, and all around good guy. So why did the story start with him feeling desperately lonely? I thought he as in his forties at from the first chapter. I just didn't feel like the chemistry between the characters were realistic.

This book starts by establishing Sophie as an International human rights lawyer of considerable success living a life well away from that at Willow Lake where her children have grown up in her absence. After a terrorist incident she realises that she regrets the time away from her children and wants to spend time with them so she moves nearby to reconnect and in doing so finds a new relationship with a local vet.I thought that this book was unbalanced in the way that it was written. The chapters abroad are exciting and action filled so that it is really difficult to believe that Sophie, whatever sort of an epiphany she had had, would be satisfied with the insular and unexciting rural way of life. I kept expecting the terrorist incident to affect her new way of life more than it did or for the author to let Sophie have some respite from her feelings and other people's opinions about her "neglect" of her children. I got the message early on that the author does not think that a woman with children can be fulfilled in any other way than in devoting her life to their upbringing and rather wished that she had stopped labouring the point. The ending of the book is predictable and the children remarkably forgiving if they really have been neglected as much as is indicated but it is readable and passes the time pleasantly enough.

This was a good book. Definitely a different story line than most romances. If someone were looking for a good book, I probably would not think of this book to recommend, but I would definitely pass the book along and say it was good. Light, enjoyable reading for sure.

Snowfall at willow lake is about Sophie Bellamy who is a lawyer who has been held hostage finding love where her ex-husband lives. She is very high strung while her handsome neighbor is a very easy going guy. Daisy and Julian take the first step in expanding their relationship. A very good book.

Looking out my windows the snow is falling so it is easy to imagine the winter scene in Avalon, NY. This book is the 4th in the Lakeshore Chronicles. International lawyer Sophie Bellamy experiences an event that causes her to redefine her life. Moving to Avalon to be near her children who took second place to her career, Sophie works to rebuild her life and sense of family. In addition, she finds her heart opening to Noah Shepherd, the local veterinarian. A warm read for a cold winter's day.

Sophie Bellamy returns to Avalon NY to try and reclaim her life with her children. Sophie's career as an international lawyer has kept her fulfilled, but after she is taken hostage and nearly dies in terrorist event in Hollarnd, she realizes that family is more important than anything. She doesn't count on falling in love again...especially with someone 10 years her junior. This is the 4th book in Wiggs' Lakeshore Chronicles series about the Bellamy family. It's fun to revisit former characters and as always, Wiggs is a great storyteller.
