About this audiobook

The ladies of the Maintown, Oregon church are all abuzz when they learn of the new and single circuit-riding preacher that will be coming through town. They all decide to inspire their daughters to make a quilt to welcome him, which soon results in a competition between the girls as each tries to out-sew the other. But Zach Hartley is unlike any preacher they've ever seen - he's clumsy in the pulpit and does women's work rather than praying over the sick. While this only serves to endear him to most women, Ellie sees something suspicious in his character. Maybe it's his connections to the Portland crime ring and other dangerous thugs?

Because of the emphasis of the book, I would re-do the cover with a quilt pattern, plus the people....Then I would be expected what I got.
I do like quilts. But the book's descriptions of sewing the quilt squares and the various patterns were places I skimmed and bogged me down.

Judith presented an interesting plot and internal struggles on fulfilling that plot by the main characters.

Four chapters in, and it was interesting. Just not fabulous, I have too much on my TBR list to read something I'm just not crazy about. With that said, if I see it on sale, I'm definitely buying it. Christian fiction with quilts and romance? I'm in.

Zack Hartley finds himself running from men who are out to kill him. He pretends to be Maintown's new preacher. The single women of Maintown all set their sights on him, while he bumbles about in the pulpit, visiting the sick and helping "his" congreation out. The one lady he would like to impress though, Ellie, doesn't seem to be after him. What will happen when they learn the truth about Zack? Was a good story with some humor and some serious parts. I liked it.
