About this audiobook

A self-made millionaire. A sassy entrepreneur. Their corporate merger might just set the night on fire in this electrifying thriller from perennial bestseller Jayne Ann Krentz.

Olivia Chantry may leave her desk in disarray, but she’s a business dynamo—and the success of her Seattle-based company, Light Fantastic, keeps her from dwelling on her crumbled marriage. When Olivia inherits 49 percent of Glow, Inc., her uncle’s high-tech lighting firm, she butts heads with the interloper who bagged the other 51 percent: Jasper Sloan, a venture capitalist known as an orderly man with all his ducks in a row.

Right from the start, the so-called partners nearly crash and burn—and can barely contain the sexual energy crackling between them. But when they discover a blackmailer uncovering secrets inside Glow, Olivia and Jasper’s steamy joint venture faces the acid test of truth…and a need for absolute trust. For when extortion turns to murder, a union of their minds—and hearts—might be their only chance to stay alive.

“Equal parts romance and suspense” (Publishers Weekly), Flash is yet another exhilarating and steamy thriller from the “queen of the genre” (Kirkus Reviews).

I got this in a grab bag from a used book store. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

It was fun to see all the references to those very modern fax machines and floppy disks, but this was not one of JAK's better outings for me. JAK is the Campbell's Tomato soup of writers. JAK books and Campbell's tomato are sort of bland and formulaic, and there are better tomato soup/romance novels to be had, even on my own pantry/book shelves, but at the same time both are warm and comforting and velvety, and simultaneously sweet and salty. This specific iteration of the JAK formula just tried both too hard and not hard enough with the whole un supported politicians can't be trusted theme, and with the barely drawn and totally unnecessary Chantry family characters. It made the book less pleasurable than it should have been. Like Campbell's tomato made with water instead of milk.

Flash by Jayne Ann KrentzOlivia is now running her uncle's lighting business, Glow since he's passed away. She learns that he had a loan where the one financing the business was now holding 51% of the stock in the company but she'd still be in charge of the day to day.Jasper Sloan had used his personal money to help his friend out because he believed in him and his concepts.Olivia runs her own lighting company, Light Fantastic and many of the relatives also work in the family business. Problem is a relative is being blackmailed and it involves them all, their reputation and they combine forces to combat the culprit. They do share a lot of time together with strategies. He is one to collect all the information he can and then form opinions. He tells Olivia of him raising the two boys and how he read how to do it. She shares her divorce details with him and how she now has her late husband's art which is worth a fortune. He realizes somebody has been in his house also as he notices a pen is out of place...Jasper and Olivia combine forces to solve who is doing the blackmailing and who is after them and their treasures...There is much action and accidents that killed and there are other romances with others than the main characters but they are all entwined. I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

When her uncle dies Olivia Chantry is stunned to learn that she's inherited only forty-nine percent of his high-tech lighting company, Glow, Inc. When Rollie Chantry dies, Jasper Sloan isn't shocked to learn he's inherited fifty-one percent of the stock in Glow, Inc. He surprised to learn that someone is attempting to kill him.Blackmail, attempted murder, splashy parties and family ties, not to mention a smart, quirky heroine and a tough male lead with a soft side and hidden depths. If you're a Krentz fan, neither the plot nor the ending will be much of a surprise, but predictability aside, it shouldn't fail to please.
