About this audiobook
John Chapman was his real name, but almost everyone remembers him by his legendary name - Johnny Appleseed - the man who sprinkled apple seeds and planted trees all across the Midwest. His legacy remains strong today - not only for his botanical achievements, but also for the stories that he shared with children, presented here at their very best in verse and art.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Beautifully illustrated and wonderfully poetic in presentation this book was fun to read. Not as fact based as I would have hoped in the main text, it still told the truth effectively in the afterword and conveyed many of the myths of his life in the central text. It was a great joy to read this.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I liked how this biography was written as a poem. The illustrations surrounding the text reminded me of a quilt, and added an extra layer of sensory experiences to the book. This is not necessarily the kind of biography you would use as a report resource, but it was a good read.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Johnny Appleseed's story as told through poetry is a brilliant way to bring to life one of America's folk heroes. The painting provided in this book are gorgeous and sometimes there will pages with only paintings. Also, pay close attention to the borders around the text on every page. With as many times as people have heard the story of Johnny Appleseed, this version really is the most meaningful to me. There are maps and even a biography of the true Johnny "Appleseed" Chapman. Great for the beginning of the school year!
