Concern over cull leak

I read recently that the names, addresses, certificate numbers and mobile phone numbers of people involved in the badger cull in Wiltshire have been published on the web. How does this happen and what risks does revealing certificate numbers pose?

David says: This is not the first time such information has appeared on anti-cull websites. I don’t think it matters too much if certificate numbers are known as these have little value. It’s an entirely different matter that addresses and phone numbers are made available. Some of those opposed to the badger cull are little short of terrorists and you wouldn’t want them turning up on your doorstep. Of more concern is how the leak occurred. Such information is only held by a few people and there must be a suspicion the leak originated within Natural England, which issued the relevant licences.
