PLANTING APPROVAL

I was pleased to read about William Hague’s tree-planting efforts in Rupert Bates’ excellent article [Planting trees for profit and posterity, October issue]. The balance between conservation, tree planting and rewilding is a delicate and sometimes difficult one, and I applaud the Rt Hon the Lord Hague of Richmond’s efforts. Planting trees that the next generation can benefit from should be something all of us who have the appropriate resources and space are thinking about. I look forward to more articles along those same lines.
