MAKE ROOM FOR CONTEMPLATION
Subconsciously, humans seek the path of least resistance – we fall into habits and live on autopilot. We can use this to our advantage, automating day-to-day chores, for example, but it can work against us when we live in a state of reaction or from a place of negative bias; when any negative angle of even a wonderful event stays with us rather than the positive experience.
In this state, we are always looking out for threats, which burns us out over time. Observing our biases helps us move out of autopilot, and self-care allows us to spend less time in fight or flight mode and more time in rest and digest mode.
