Series 4 is the first time the Apple Watch’s design has changed since its release in 2015. The display now almost reaches the edges, it has rounded corners like an iPhone XS, and the old 38 and 42mm designs are now replaced by 40 and 44mm (older straps work with the equivalent sizes).

We tested the 44mm version, and the extra width and height is certainly noticeable on a device you’re looking at day after day. The change in depth is less than a millimeter, but the new Watch feels less hefty. Apple has also seemingly changed the curve of the Watch’s rear, giving your skin a little more room to maneuver.
