WEAPONS DELIVERY NOTES AND ASSUMPTIONS

All deliveries developed from T.O. 1-A-10-34-1-2FD (CWDS V 9.1) Aircraft / Atmospheric conditions for all parameter calculations: 40,000 lb Aircraft 45 Celsius (113F) 1,000 Target 4551 Target Density Altitude All airspeeds are KCAS / KIAS. All altutudes are AGL. You must ADD TARGET ELEVATION. All altitudes are based on IFFCC computed modes or OPT C. If employing in HARS or Standby Pipper you must add 10xDive Angle to ALL ALTITUDES to correct for altimeter lag and installation error. Parameter corrections: All parameters are cranked for pylon-mounted bombs, except for BDU-33s. If using TERs subtract 4 MILS. Mil adjustments for variations in store carriage, ripple quantity, target altitude, temperature, and aircraft weight are provided on page 1-9. Abort altitude adjustments for variations in target altitude are provided on page 1-9. Every computed delivery includes specific IFFCC weapons menu settings. The Minimum Range Staple (MRS) and Minimum Range Cue (MRC) represent the most conservative Minimum Recovery Altitude (MRA) for safe escape/fragmentation, fuzing, and minimum altitude (if set). The MRS/MRC is based off of the following IFFCC weapons settings: ESC MVR: Used to select the appropriate RTSE table for MRA calculations. The proper SEM should be selected (CLM or TLT) unless the delivery card specifically shows NONE. For BDU-33s, the proper SEM/Bomb Config combo must be selected (for example, TLT/HD for 10LAHD deliveries). Selecting NONE turns off RTSE and the MRS/MRC will not show abort for frag. FUZE: Fuze types(s) and settings are input by the pilot and must match current arming combinations available per T.O. 1-1M-34. Each delivery shows the proper fuze type(s) and fuze time(s) to set into the IFFCC menu. With the exception of GBU-12s (see GBU-12 page for more info), the fuze types and arm times input into IFFCC must exactly match the configuration of the weapons loaded. MIN ALT: Each delivery in this volume now lists a min alt to set in the IFFCC menu. These minimum altitudes are based on MCI 11-2A/OA-10 Vol 1 and AFI-11-214 and must be set for all peacetime deliveries. The Suite 4 algorithm computes the min altitude abort cue based on the input SEM (IFFCC uses the CLM SEM algorithm for input SEMs of NONE or TRN). For strafe and Mav deliveries the algorithm computes the min alt abort cue based on a 4G in 2 sec wings level pull. NOTE: Consideration should be given to setting 0 (or some other nominal altitude) in the IFFCC menus for COMBAT operations. This will ensure the MRS/MRC will indicate only aborts for fuzing or frag and not for an arbitrary training-rule-driven altitude. Track Times: 4500 recovery: 5 seconds <4500 recovery: 3 seconds MAT/LAT: 5 seconds to designate, 5 seconds to track

Abort Criteria: Each delivery lists the following: Authorized Safe Escape Maneuver (SEM) Reference page 1-11. o >20 delivery perform climbing SEM (CLM) o 20 perform turn level turn SEM (TLT) o NOTE: CLM SEM may be performed instead of TLT if desired/tactically sound. TLT MAY NOT be substituted for CLM SEM. Abort Reason o FUZE: Delivery below abort cues will prevent weapon from arming, or in the case of illumination flares/illum rockets, the flare will impact the ground still burning. o FRAG: Delivery below abort cues will expose aircraft to frag damage o TRs: Delivery below abort cues will likely result in the aircraft descending below peacetime training rule min altitude. Abort Altitude o The abort altitude listed is only valid for an Opt C manual delivery. If degraded to HARS or Standby Pipper mode, add 10xDive Angle to all delivery altitudes, including abort. If using any IFFCC computed mode, use the IFFCC abort cue (MRS/MRC) to determine when to abort.

10. Manual Delivery Windows used to determine Abort Altitudes: NOTE: These windows are valid for Opt C, HARS, and Standby Pipper abort altitudes. With a working IFFCC system and properly-entered delivery data, IFFCC will provide an accurate abort cue even if outside these parameters. LAT/MAT Assumptions: CCRP or CCIP Consent mode as desired 90 Base Set depressible pipper to IHP (150) for designation Altitude lost during roll-in = 60 x Dive angle 12 seconds to roll-in Confirm TDC or designate target with depressible pipper (CCRP) or reticle (CCIP) 5 seconds to designate 3G in 1 second pull to desired delivery dive angle 5 second track, stabilized, wings level delivery Max throttle throughout delivery Abort on MRS Listed MAT passes in this volume are planned for a 30 dive for designation/TD box check, pull to 10 dive (unguided munitions) or level flight (LGBs) for release. However, initial dive angle may be held throughout the delivery, OR the pilot may pull to a shallower release angle as desired (up to level flight). Mils listed on MAT deliveries are for a 10 (unguided munitions) or level flight (LGBs) release at the depicted altitude. In all cases with LAT/MAT deliveries, mil depression will require a system delivery (Mils >300) NOTE: LAT/MAT deliveries are NOT APPROVED with 7-second-fuzed airburst munitions due to lack of safe separation. If LAT/MAT deliveries are required, see the Weapons Shop for computation of custom deliveries using a higher fuze time setting. 15. Night Deliveries: All deliveries in this volume are approved for night use EXCEPT as noted on the individual delivery pages.

MK-82/84 NOTES:
1. MK-82AIR Impact Fuze deliveries are cranked for Pilot Option (PO) configuration with Nose FMU-139A/B (4), Tail FMU-139A/B (HD-4, LD-6). Other allowable fuze configurations with no change to mils or delivery parameters are: o Pilot Option Nose M904 (4), Tail M905 (6) o Pilot Option 1 Nose M904 (4), Tail FMU-139A/B (HD-4, LD-6) o Pilot Option 2 Nose M904 (4), Tail FMU-139A/B (HD-4, LD-6) o Pilot Option Nose M904 (6), Tail FMU-54 (4) Min allowable fuze settings for Pilot Option configs is 6 LD and 2.5 HD (T.O. 1-1M34) In all cases ensure IFFCC menu settings match actual configuration of the bomb. CAUTION: ACP Inhibits exist for high drag munition deliveries under the following conditions: o High drag munitions selected on Non-Paired stations or from the same TER and intervalometer set to less than 250 msec for ripple single deliveries. o High drag munitions selected on Paired stations and intervalometer set to less than 130 msec for ripple single deliveries. o High drag munitions selected on Paired stations and intervalometer set to less than 250 msec for ripple pair deliveries. MK-82LD and MK-84LD Impact Fuze deliveries are cranked for Nose FMU-139A/B (4), Tail FMU-139A/B (4). Other allowable fuze configurations with no change to mils or delivery parameters are: o Nose M904 (4), Tail M905 (4) In all cases ensure IFFCC menu settings match actual configuration of the bomb.

MK-82LD and MK-84LD Airburst Fuze deliveries are cranked for Nose DSU-33 (1.8), Tail FMU139A/B (7). Other allowable fuze configurations with no change to mils or delivery parameters are: o Nose FMU-113 (7), Tail M905 (4) Complete CLM SEM must be flown to ensure safe separation from airburstfuzed munitions!

CBU-87/89 NOTES:
1. CBU-87 deliveries were computed using the following settings: RPM: 2000 (S) HOF: 1200 (E) Timer: 2.23 (S) CBU-87 ripple single deliveries ensure 60 minimum overlap and 5-7 bomblets/1000 sq. ft, which is optimized for soft-skinned vehicle targets. For armored targets, employ in pairs or ripple pairs to achieve 8-12 bomblets/1000 sq. ft. CBU-87/89 ABORT NOTES: The MRS/MRC represent the most conservative Min Recovery Altitude (MRA) based on the following IFFCC weapons menu settings: ESC MVR: IFFCC provides safe escape/safe separation from the frag of an intact canister. NOTE: Low altitude CBU-87/89 deliveries in this volume (VLD, LAHD) DO NOT take into account the frag from an intact canister and are therefore for combat use only. For these deliveries, IFFCC SEM must be set to None in the IFFCC menu in order to achieve a proper solution. In this case the HUD will indicate XXX denoting no SEM is selected. FUZE: Abort cues depend on event/fuzing options: o NOSE: Timed Mode, the MRS provides for submunition arming prior to impact. o N/T: Radar Mode. MRS provides for radar function time prior to reaching set HOF. o TAIL: Munition will dud.

MIN ALT: As with all minimum altitudes in this volume, this setting ensures that the MRS provides for recovery at or above MCI 11-2A/OA-10 Vol 1 and AFI 11-214 training rule altitudes. For combat use, set 0 or other tactically-relevant min altitude.

The desired TOF setting determines the placement of the DRC and provides proper delivery wire, pattern size, pattern overlap, and density of bomblets.

BDU-33 NOTES
1. BDU-33 parameters are cranked to simulate the release parameters of the MK-82AIR (VLD, 10 and 15 LAHD) and the MK-82LD (all other releases). BDU-33 IFFCC settings and assumptions: ESC MVR: For events simulating MK-82AIR (VLD, 10/15 LAHD) set TLT/HD to enable the MK-82HD RTSE table. For events simulating MK-82LD, set the SEM as required by the weapons card (Ensure LD suffix) for that event to enable MK-82LD RTSE tables. FUZE TIME: 4.6 for all events to simulate FMU-139 set to 4 seconds plus manufacturing allowable tolerance. MIN ALT: As required by event IAW with MCI 11-2A/OA-10 Vol 1 and AFI 11-214.

ROCKET NOTES
1. For all rocket events other than illum rockets, MIN ALT setting provides for recovery using a 4G in 2 sec wings level pull to horizon, to stay above MCI 11-2A/OA-10 and AFI 11-214 min altitudes for that event. Abort altitudes provide the same information for manual events. 2. For illum rocket events MIN ALT setting provides for burnout of flare prior to ground impact. Abort altitudes provide the same information for manual events.

STRAFE NOTES
1. For all strafe events, MIN ALT setting provides for recovery using a 4G in 2 sec wings level pull to horizon, to stay above MCI 11-2A/OA-10 and AFI 11-214 min altitudes for that event. Abort altitudes provide the same information for manual events. Thick / Thin events represent the proper slant range using the following assumptions: Thick Average Main Battle Tank Thin Average Soft-Skinned Vehicle (SSV) 50% Probability of M/F-Kill 2 Burst; 2.5 Mil Aiming Error

SAFE ESCAPE MANEUVERS


CLIMBING (CLM) SEM (0 - 60 of Dive)
Following release, safe escape is provided by obtaining a 4.0 G (min) in 2 second pull. As the nose approaches the horizon, military power is applied. G is maintained to a 20-degree climbing flight path angle and then relaxed until a 30-degree flight path angle is achieved. NOTE: This escape maneuver allows for bank angles up to 30 during recovery.

TURNING LEVEL TURN (TLT) SEM (0-20 of Dive)


Following release, safe escape is provided by simultaneously selecting military power and obtaining 4 Gs (min) in 2 seconds in a wings level pull. As the flight path approaches the horizon, perform a 2-4 G loaded roll to establish a level turn. As bank is established, ensure 4 Gs are maintained for a minimum of 60 of turn from release heading.
