in early August is celebrated for ten days one of the most colorful fairs, Colombia wonderful flowers fair .. Offers tourists and residents more than 140 cultural, traditional and modern evevts. Among them: a horse fair, a festival orchestra, the festival of national trova, a parade of antique and classic cars, a short walk dog, musical and cultural platforms, the festival of the songs by heart and people. the most representative event of the fair is the silleteros parade. Silleteros are the farmers who make beautiful flower arrangements on a silleta. This parade is recognized as a cultural heritage of Colombia.

SUMMER FESTIVAL
During 10 days, Bogot will dress up to celebrate 15 years of the Summer Festival, which brings the inhabitants recreational and sporting events. This event for free time in the Capital District, will be from August 6th to 15th and will be held at different places at the metropolitan and Simon Bolivar Parks. 15 years are not met every day for this great celebration, the festival brings additional activities to those that already have become representative events of this festival of the capital, As the District Festival of cheers.

Festival of wind and kite at villa de leyva

In the beautiful colonial setting of Villa de Leyva there is a Festival of the Wind and the kites, during the activity participants will not only have fun but have the opportunity to watch the contestants professionals in the town square made impressive demonstrations, competing in various categories. COLOMBIA: BOYACA BATTLE

The Battle of Boyac is celebrated in Colombia in August 7th every year to commemorate the defeat of the Spanish Monarchy and Achievement of definitive Independence by the people of Colombia from the Spanish rule. It is important because of the achievement of independence... Every 4 years this date is chosen for the proclamation of the President of Colombia in Casa de Nario. Also the date is just the next day after the birth of the capital city (the date of the birth of the city is August 6th 1538) of Colombia Bogota, therefore the celebrations for the day in Bogota starts right from the 6th day of August. The whole city is decorated and then celebrations take over the whole city.

In Colombia, people don't celebrate Valentine's Day on February 14th; but instead, celebrate the whole month of September the third weekend. In Colombia for example, people give and receive cards and presents and they play Secret friend game at school or at work. At the end of the game, they try to identify who was his/her secret friend. It is the month when people, friends, couples and lovers get together to spend a month of happiness, joy, harmony and life.
