‘vtehinde TeknicaWhat is Reservoir Simulation?
The word "simulation" as defined by Webster
means “to assume the appearance of
without the reality".
Simulation of petroleum reservoir
performance refers to the construction and
operation of a model whose behaviour
assumes the appearance of actual reservoir
behaviour.
There are two types of models: physical
models and mathematical models. Among
the various types of mathematical models
and tools for analyzing reservoir
performance, computer reservoir simulation
is the most complex and sophisticated. It is
widely used and has become an integral part
of reservoir engineering.
