Body (Started from the bottom)

Using orange, cast on 6 stitches and join in a round.
Rnd 1. [KFB]6x (12 sts)
Rnd 2. [KFB K1]6x (18 sts)
Rnd 4. Knit
Make sure that you have 12 stitches on your first and
last needle
Rnd 7. [KFB K3]3x, [KFB K7]2x, [KFB K3]3x (48 sts)
Even Rnds. 8-14. Knit
Rnd 9. KFB, K14, KFB, K17, KFB, K14 (51 sts)
Rnds 15-16. Knit
Rnd 17. K2tog, K16, K2tog, K19, K2tog, K16 (54 sts)
Even Rnds 18-22. Knit
Rnd 19. K2tog, K6, K2tog, K7, K2tog, K16, K2tog, K7, K2tog, K6, K2tog (48 sts)

Rnds 37-46. Knit
Bind off all stitches. Break yarn and draw it tightly through the remaining stitch using
a tapestry needle and leaving a long tail for sewing on the head. Add more stuffing as
needed.
Head
Using orange; cast on 6 stitches and join in a round. I used 5 Double Pointed Needles
Rnds 1-4. Knit
Rnd 5. [K2 KFB]2x (8 sts)
Rnd 6. K2tog, KFB, K4, KFB (9 sts)
Rnd. 7. Knit
Rnd 8. [KFB]2x, K6, KFB (12 sts)
Rnd 9. [KFB]2x, K3, KFB, K2, KFB, K3 (16 sts)
Rnd 10. KFB, K2, KFB, K4, [KFB]4x, K4 (22 sts)
Rnds 11-13. Knit
Rnd 14. [K2tog, K4]2x, K4, K2tog, K4 (19 sts)

Rnd 15. [K2tog K3]2x, K4, K2tog, K3 (16 sts)
Rnd 16. Knit
Rnd 17. [K2tog K2]4x (12 sts)
Rnd 18. [K2tog K1]4x (8 sts)
Stuff Piece
Rnd 19. [K2tog]4x (4 sts)
Break yarn and draw it tightly through the
remaining stitches using a tapestry needle. Sew to
body.
Ears (Make 2)
Using orange; cast on 3 stitches. Knit in I-cord and leave a long tail for sewing to head.
Rows 1-3. Knit
Row 4. K2tog, K1 (2 sts)
Row 5. Knit
Break yarn and draw it tightly through the remaining
stitches using a tapestry needle. Sew to head.
Arms (Make 2)
Using orange; cast on 7 stitches and join in a round leaving a long tail for sewing to
body. Stuff as you go, but DO NOT overstuff.
First Arm:
Rnd 1. Knit
Rnd 2. K2tog, K5 (6 sts)
Rnds 3-6. Knit
Rnd 7. [K3, W&T, P3, W&T]3x, K6
Rnd 8. KFB, K5 (7 sts)
Rnds 9-12. Knit
Rnd 13. K4, KFB, K2 (8 sts)
Rnd 14. K2. Proceed with I-cord for 2 rows on those 2 stitches that you
just knit. Break yarn and draw it tightly through the 2 stitches using a
tapestry needle. Reattach the yarn and repeat Rnd 14. Bind off the next 2 stitches and
then repeat Rnd 14 on the last 2 stitches (I only did 1 row of I-cord for the last 2
stitches because I thought it looked better). Use tails to sew up hole in the palm and
weave in any extra tails after that.
Second Arm:
Rnds 1-12. Follow First Arm Steps.
Rnd 13. KFB K6 (8 sts)
Rnd 14. Bind off the first 2 stitches. K1 and then do one row of I-cord on the stitch you
have after binding off the first 2 stitches and the K1 stitch. Break yarn and draw it
tightly through the 2 stitches using a tapestry needle. Reattach yarn and K2. Proceed
with I-cord for two rows on the 2 stitches you just knit then break yarn and draw it
tightly through the 2 stitches using a tapestry needle. Reattach your yarn and repeat the
two rows of I-cord on the last 2 stitches before breaking the yarn and drawing it
through the last 2 stitches. Use tails to sew up hole in the palm and weave in any extra
tails after that
Legs (Make 2)
Using orange; cast on 6 stitches and join in a round leaving a long tail for sewing to
body.
Rnd 4. KFB, K9, KFB, K4 (17 sts)
Rnds 5-13. Knit
Stuff Piece
Rnd 14. [K2tog]3x, K5, [K2tog]3x (11 sts)
Rnd 15. K8 [W&T, P5, W&T, K5]3x, K3
Rnds 16-20. Knit
Stuff the rest of the piece, (not too firmly so that the foot keeps its shape. Break yarn and
draw it tightly through the remaining stitches using a tapestry needle.
Wing Bones (Make 2)

Using orange; cast on 8 stitches and join in a round. Leave a long tail for sewing to
body. DO NOT stuff! Instead, knit around one of the 2 floral stem wires you have, (the

wire I bought was 18 in long, but all you need is 7 in of wire for each wing bone). DO

NOT wait to insert stem wire at the end!!! Make sure the floral stem wire that you use
has the fabric-like covering.
Rnds 1-2. Knit
Rnd 3. [K2tog K1]2x, K2tog (5 sts)
Rnds 4-13. Knit
Rnd 14. K4, [W&T, P3, W&T, K3]2x, K1
Rnds 15-26. Knit
Rnd 27. K1, [W&T, P3, W&T, K3]3x, K4
Rnd 28. K1, W&T, P3, W&T, K7

Rnds 29-32. Knit
Rnd 33. K1, W&T, P3, W&T, K7

Break yarn. Put a bit of stuffing in the tip of the wing bone before drawing the yarn
tightly through the remaining stitches.
Wing Membrane
Make 4, (A Left and Right Blue Membrane and a Left and Right Orange Membrane).
Knit flat, (Stockinette Stitch).
Left Wing Membrane
Using orange or blue; cast on 7 stitches
Row 1. Knit
Even Rows 2-4. Purl
Row 3. KFB, K4, K2tog
Row 5. KFB, K4, K2tog
Row 6. P2tog, P5 (6 sts)
Row 7. KFB, K3, [KFB]2x (9 sts)
Row 8. PFB, P8 (10 sts)

together as well as to the wing bone.
**Only on the orange wing membranes
Right Wing Membrane

Use the same instructions for the Left Wing Membrane except purl when it says to knit
and knit when it says to purl.
Wings (Finishing)
1. Sew a blue wing membrane to an orange wing membrane
so that the right sides of both pieces are facing outward. Do
not put stuffing between the blue and orange wing membrane.
2. Use the rest of the tail from the orange wing membrane to
sew the completed membrane to the wing bone.
3. Sew both completed wings to the body
Wing Nubs (Make 2)

Using orange; cast on 3 stitches leaving a long tail for sewing to wing bone. Knit 3 rows
of I-cord then break yarn and draw it through the remaining stitches using a tapestry
needle.

Tail
Using orange; cast on 6 stitches and join in a round, leaving a long tail for sewing on
the flame. Stuff the piece as you go.
Odd Rnds. 1-5. Knit
Rnds 6-9. Knit
Rnd 10. KFB, K5, KFB, K1 (10 sts)
Rnds 11-12. Knit
Rnd 13. K4, [KFB K2]2x (12 sts)
Rnds 14-15. Knit

Stomach/Tail Covering
These pieces will be knitted flat using stockinette stitch.
Stomach Portion
Using yellow; cast on 6 stitches
Row 1. KFB, K4, KFB (8 sts)
Even Rows 2-22. Purl
Row 11. Knit
Odd Rows 15-23. Knit
Bind off all stitches, (purl wise). Break yarn and draw it through the remaining stitch
using a tapestry needle, leaving a long tail for sewing to the body.
Underside/Tail Portion
Using yellow; cast on 18 stitches
Odd Rows 1-7. Knit
Row 9. K2tog, K14, K2tog (16 sts)
Row 14. P2tog, P8, P2tog (10 sts)

Tail Flame (3 Parts)

All parts are knitted flat using stockinette stitch.
Part 1
Using yellow; cast on 4 stitches.
Row 1. Knit
Even Rows 2-4. Purl
Row 5. K2, [K2tog]2x (4 sts)
Odd Rows 7-9. Knit

Row 12. P2tog (1 sts)

Break yarn and draw it tightly through the remaining stitch using a tapestry needle,
leaving a long tail for sewing.
Part 2
Using red; cast on 1 stitch leaving a long tail for sewing to Part 1.
Odd Rows 1-5. Knit
Even Rows 2-8. Purl
Row 7. KFB (2 sts)
Row 9. K1, KFB (3 sts)
Row 11. KFB, K1 (3 sts)
Row 12. Purl
Row 13. [KFB]2x, K1 (5 sts)
Row 18. P2tog (1 sts)
Row 20. Purl
Break yarn and draw it tightly through the
remaining stitch using a tapestry needle.
Part 3
Using red; cast on 1 stitch, leaving a long tail for sewing to Part 1.
Row 1. Knit
Row 2. Purl
Row 3. KFB (2 sts)
Bind off all stitches. Break yarn and draw it through the remaining stitch using a
tapestry needle.

Finishing
1. Sew on Arms, Tail, Stomach/Tail Covering, and Legs

2. Embroider claws on fingers using white embroidery thread and a small sewing
needle. Wrap the floss 3 times per claw.
3. Embroider teeth using white embroidery thread and a small sewing needle. Wrap the
floss 2 times per tooth.
4. Embroider claws on feet using white

embroidery thread and a small sewing needle. Wrap the floss 4 times per claw.
5. Embroider eyes using white and black embroidery thread and a small sewing needle.
Make a long stitch with the white for the length of each eye (wrapping it 2 times). Then
wrap the white embroidery thread a stitch above the white line so that it encompasses
the stitch above the white line and the white line itself.

Do this for the length of the white line.

After that, wrap the black embroidery thread 2
times towards the front of the white area.
6. Sew Nubs at the point where the wing bone
changes directions. Sew Flame to tip of tail.
