ContentcreatorsmakemoneyonYouTubebymonetizingtheircontentthroughadvertising.Unfortunately, byblockingadvertisingandallowingdownloadsofvideos,yourapplicationcutsoffavaluableongoing revenuesourceforcreators,andcausesharmtothethrivingcontentecosystemonYouTube.Inaddition, yourapplicationoverridesspecificdecisionsmadebysomecontentcreatorstokeeptheircontentfrom displayingoncertaintypesofdevices,whichinmanycasesareduetoexclusivedistributionarrangements thosecontentcreatorshavewiththirdparties.YouTubesagreementswithcreatorsgivethemchoicesin howtheircontentispresentedanddistributed,andyourapplicationtakesawaythatcontrol. TherearenowmorethanonemillionchannelsearningrevenuethroughtheYouTubepartnerprogram, rangingfromchannelscontainingcontentfromaspiringyoungstarsandeducatorstowellknownshows fromlargemediacompaniesandnewsorganizations.WeareproudtosaythatthousandsofYouTube channelsaremakingsixfiguresayear.WeweresurprisedanddisappointedthatMicrosoftchoseto launchanapplicationthatdeliberatelydeprivescontentcreatorsoftheirrightfulearnings,especiallygiven thatWindowsPhone8usersalreadyhaveaccesstoafullyfunctionalYouTubeapplicationbasedupon industrystandardHTML5throughthewebbrowser.
