Introduction (20 mins) The teacher will come to the classroom and will create a word map with the vocabulary above, he will ask students about different words related to technology they might not be familiar with and will write them on the board, after finishing he will have volunteers to help him to create meanings for the words presented and if there is any word left, the teacher will explain its meaning. The teacher will initiate a discussion with the class of a range of materials to try to initiate comparisons between the way information is presented in books and CD-ROMs. A good example to use here could be an encyclopedia in book format, and something like Encarta on CD-Rom. How much interactivity exists? When is it better to use a CD-ROM rather than a book? When is a book better than a CD-ROM? Look specifically at occurrences of: Sound Text Video Still images

After having the discussion the teacher can present a powerpoint presentation with some differences between presenting the information in books or in cd, after this presentation students will come up with their own ideas or conclusions about the discussions Main activity (30 mins) The teacher will have students investigate in internet some advantages and disadvantages for the use of technology in the classroom. activity (30 min) Students will be asked to prepare a one page document containing the information they investigated about, it should express why they are in favor of having technology in the classroom They will be asked to prepare 1 slide to present the information to the rest of the group. They will get together in groups and talk about the importance of technology in the classroom homework Students will be asked to prepare a written report that summarizes the information presented by their classmates at least one page.
