Activities
1. PRESENTATION. Weve made a power point presentation of the comenius project for our students with information about the countries involved in the project, project objectives, mains contents or issues to work etc.. See attached Annex I (power point (Comenius)).

PROYECTO COMENIUS

1. QUIZ. Weve done a quiz for students of our school about the population, currency, location, main monuments, main issues and events, flags, typical meals, rivers, topographic features.. of the countries involved in the project; students have to surf the net or look for it on reference books. See attached Anex II.

2. RECYCLABLE BAGS. We have three different bags in every classroom for paper, glass and garbage. There is, also, the same pack in all the common places. Every week pupils put the content of the bags in the proper big container on the street.

4. LOGOS. In each tap or switch we have attached a logo so pupils and teachers could remember to turn off the tap or light off. We are trying parents to use the same symbols at home.

5. ORCHARD. Weve cleaned and plowed the orchard to prepare it for planting and sewing in late winter. Weve pruned all the trees and labeled some of them with the latin name, the Spanish name and aragonese (local language) name. Weve planted more trees. Pupils from other schools of the neighborhood come to our school to know about bushes, trees and vegetables and carry out environmental activities with our pupils.

6. COLLABORATION WITH OTHER INSTITUTIONS.

INDISCREET STREET is an educational service of city council to teach student people about environmental issues. They came to our school to teach us about treatment of waste and proper use of energy resources.

ANSAR is an Aragon naturalist association who has collaborated with us in two training activities with our students. Bird identification activity Activity on waste and environmental problems.

MAFRE-COUNCIL. Activity: Save water on your home, your school and your town. Anex III.

7. ADHESIVES. Weve made 200 stickers with the pet and the winning logo to paste in backpacks and folders of all the students of the school.

8. FARM-SCHOOL. This is an activity for the youngest students of the school. 50 of them participate in these activities in a farm located 15 km from Zaragoza. There they learned about caring from different animals (pigs, donkeys, sheeps, goats, rabbits, hens.) and the cultivation and maintenance of some vegetables. They spent the whole day on the farm.

9. DECALOGUE. We have sent to the parents of all students in the school a Decalogue of how to save energy at home and another on how to save water so that the students also acquire these habits at home and parental awareness.

In October, 45 students of our school move to the main growing wine area on the region in a multilateral exchange with students of three schools of the region. These explained to our students the winemaking process, care and duties required by the vine plant
10. WINE MAKING-PROCESS-SCHOOLAR INTERCHANGE.

The day continued with a visit to a plantation to observe the traditional and mechanizing methods of grapes recollection. Then moved to the cooperatives in the villages to observe in situ the process the grapes follow to became wine. At noon each group went to the hermitage of each village to eat together and perform a series of leisure activities prepared by teachers of the different schools.

11. ENVIROMENTAL LIBRARY. We have collected activity books, some magazines and other environmental theme materials to make a small library for pupils and teachers.

12. FLORA AND FAUNA: Pupils from different classrooms have elaborated murals about aragonese and Spanish flora and fauna species, and endangered species. Local institutions have collaborated sending us murals, books, magazines.

13. OIL RECYCLING. We have containers on the kitchen and catering workshop to recycle oil waste. Next month it will take place an activity about recycling oil.
